• They first met on the sets of 'Hello' (1999) because Prashanth was a last-minute replacement. The original hero walked out, and Vaiyapuri, who was already cast as the comedian, convinced the director to sign his friend Prashanth. That phone call changed both their careers.
• In 'Piriyadha Varam Vendum' (2001), Vaiyapuri deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match Prashanth's more measured delivery. Prashanth later said that Vaiyapuri's patience made him look like a better actor than he actually was in emotional scenes.
• During the shoot of 'Good Luck' (2000), Vaiyapuri and Prashanth shared a room in a cheap lodge in Kodaikanal for three weeks. They would rehearse scenes at 5 AM every day, and Vaiyapuri would make coffee on a small stove because the lodge didn't have room service.
• Prashanth once told a magazine: 'Vaiyapuri is the only co-star who would wake me up at 4 AM to practice a comedy scene. I hated it then, but those scenes are why people still remember those films.'
• Their double-act in 'Parthen Rasithen' (2000) directly inspired the comedy track in the 2003 film 'Thirumalai' — director Ramana specifically asked Vaiyapuri to recreate the same rhythm he had with Prashanth, but this time with Vijay. That film became a massive hit.
• In 'Jai' (2004), Vaiyapuri wrote his own dialogue for the first time in their partnership. Prashanth would read Vaiyapuri's lines and then adjust his own reactions on the spot. The director let them do this because the spontaneous back-and-forth felt more natural than the scripted version.
