• Their first film together, Major Saab (1998), was directed by Tinnu Anand. Amitabh Bachchan personally recommended Ajay Devgn for the role of the villain, even though Ajay was already a star. Big B wanted a younger actor who could match his intensity in the action scenes.
• In Khakee (2004), their on-screen rivalry worked because Amitabh played the weary, rule-following cop while Ajay played the unhinged, instinctive criminal.
