• Govinda and Asrani first shared screen space in 'Love 86' (1986) because the director, Esmayeel Shroff, thought their contrasting energies — Govinda's manic physicality and Asrani's deadpan timing — would bounce off each other perfectly. Shroff cast them as a comic duo without ever seeing them together before.
• In 'Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni' (1989), Asrani would deliberately flub his lines during rehearsals to make Govinda laugh, then use that genuine reaction in the final take. Govinda later said Asrani's unpredictability forced him to stay sharp — no two takes were ever the same.
• On the sets of 'Chalo Ishq Ladaaye' (2002), Govinda and Asrani had a running bet: whoever broke character first during a comic scene had to buy lunch for the entire crew. Asrani won 7 out of 10 times, mostly by staring silently at Govinda until he cracked.
