• Senthil was already a known comedian when he recommended Kumarimuthu for a small role in Oomai Vizhigal (1986). The director agreed only after Senthil insisted they'd bounce off each other better.
• In Mudhal Seethanam (1992), Senthil would deliberately flub his lines to make Kumarimuthu crack up on camera. The director kept those takes because Kumarimuthu's genuine laughter sold the scene.
• During the shoot of Naatupura Paattu (1996), the two shared a room in a small village lodge. They'd rehearse their comedy bits at 2 AM, waking up the entire crew. Nobody complained because the scenes were gold.
• Their double-act in Oomai Vizhigal (1986) directly inspired director K. Bhagyaraj to cast them together again in his next film. That film became a sleeper hit, and the duo's template — one loud, one deadpan — was copied by every comedy pair in Tamil cinema for the next decade.
• They almost never worked together after 1996 because Kumarimuthu felt typecast as Senthil's sidekick. He turned down three offers that paired them again, telling producers, 'Let him fly alone. I'll find my own path.'
