• Senthil was a struggling comedian when Madhuri, already a star, insisted he be cast opposite her in 'Manithan' (1987). The director wanted a bigger name, but she refused to sign until Senthil was on board.
• In 'Irandil Ondru' (1988), Madhuri deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Senthil's comic timing. She told the director to let Senthil set the pace for their scenes — a rare move from a leading lady to a supporting comedian.
• During the shoot of 'Ore Ratham' (1987), Senthil's father passed away. Madhuri quietly paid for all funeral expenses and didn't tell anyone until years later. Senthil found out from a production assistant.
• Their 1988 film 'Ullathil Nalla Ullam' directly inspired director K. S. Ravikumar to cast Senthil as a lead comedian in his later films. Ravikumar said he watched their scenes together to understand how to write comedy that doesn't undercut the heroine.
