Partnership facts

• Their first film together, Sundarakanda (1992), was a low-budget comedy where Brahmanandam was still finding his footing as a solo comedian. Meena, already a star, insisted the director give him more screen time after seeing his improv on set.
• In Muta Mesthri (1993), Brahmanandam would deliberately flub his lines to make Meena break character mid-scene. She'd then retaliate by adding extra dialogue on the spot, forcing him to keep up. The director kept rolling because the outtakes were funnier than the script.
• Their pairing in Chanti (1992) was so popular that the producers of Bobbili Simham (1994) specifically wrote a parallel comedy track for them, even though the film was a serious family drama. That track became the most re-watched part of the movie on TV.
• On the sets of Muddula Mogudu (1997), Brahmanandam would bring homemade pickles from his village for Meena every single day. She later said in an interview that she looked forward to the shoot only for those pickles.
