Partnership facts

• Their first film together, Super Police (1994), almost didn't happen. Chalapathi Rao was initially cast in a different role, but a last-minute scheduling conflict pushed him into the part opposite Ahuti Prasad. Neither had worked with the other before, and the director admitted later that the pairing was pure accident.
• In Madhumasam (2007), Chalapathi Rao played the comic relief while Ahuti Prasad played the stern father. On set, Rao would deliberately flub his lines to make Prasad laugh, breaking his serious character. Prasad said that Rao's goofing forced him to stay in character harder — and that tension made their scenes crackle.
• Their 2020 film Arjuna was a hit, but it also launched a new trend: both actors started getting more offers to play father-son duos after this film. Before Arjuna, they had mostly played rivals or colleagues. Post-Arjuna, at least three other Telugu films directly cast them as father and son.
• Off-screen, they had a running bet: whoever flubbed the most lines during a shoot had to buy the other a meal. After Bendu Apparao R.M.P. (2009), Ahuti Prasad owed Chalapathi Rao seven dinners. Rao never collected — he said he just liked watching Prasad stress over his dialogue sheets.
