• Sachu was just 14 when she first acted opposite Major Sundarrajan in Thunaivan (1969). He was 46. The age gap was so wide that the director had to convince the producers it wouldn't look awkward on screen.
• In Cinema Paithiyam (1975), Major Sundarrajan played a strict father while Sachu played his rebellious daughter. Their real-life age difference made the father-daughter dynamic feel painfully real — Sachu later said he never once broke character during rehearsals, which helped her stay in the zone.
• After Dheepam (1977), they never worked together again. But Sachu has said in interviews that Major Sundarrajan would call her every year on her birthday until his death in 2003 — no small gesture from a man who was famously reclusive.
