Chandrasekhar cast Anandaraj as the villain, but Charlie was a last-minute replacement for another comedian who backed out. Charlie walked onto set, saw Anandaraj's intense screen presence, and decided to match his energy beat-for-beat — that accidental pairing became the template for their next 10 films.
• Anandaraj and Charlie developed a silent shorthand on set: Anandaraj would deliver his dialogue with a deadpan glare, and Charlie would wait exactly one beat before reacting — that split-second delay made every scene land like a comedy punchline.
