• Ajay and Brahmaji first shared screen space in Bujjigaadu (2008), but their real breakthrough as a duo came in Mirapakaya (2011). That film’s director, Harish Shankar, deliberately paired them as comic foils after seeing their timing in earlier cameos — he told them to improvise every line, and they ended up writing half their own dialogue on set.
• In every film together, Brahmaji played the straight man who set up the joke, and Ajay delivered the punchline. Ajay once said in an interview that Brahmaji’s deadpan reactions made him funnier — he’d just look at Brahmaji’s face and the timing clicked automatically.
• Their comic track in Bharath Ane Nenu (2018) was so popular that the film’s director, Koratala Siva, added extra scenes for them during reshoots — scenes that weren’t in the original script. That film went on to gross over 250 crores, and their portions became a template for political dramas needing comic relief.
• Ajay and Brahmaji have a standing rule: they never rehearse together before a scene. They believe over-rehearsing kills the spontaneity. On the sets of Ala Vaikunthapuramulo (2020), they’d meet for the first time that day, run lines once, and then roll camera. Trivikram Srinivas loved this approach and wrote longer comic sequences for them.
• Brahmaji once said about Ajay: 'He’s the only actor who can make me laugh even when I know the joke is coming. I have to bite my tongue to stay in character.' He said this during a promotional interview for Bloody Mary (2022).
• Their pairing in Autonagar Surya (2014) directly inspired the comic duo in the 2019 film Maharshi — the writers admitted they wanted a similar 'loud friend + calm friend' dynamic, but couldn’t get both actors due to scheduling conflicts.
