• Mantra and Raasi first came together in 1997's 'Subhakankshalu' because the director needed a fresh pair. Neither was a big name yet — they were both taking a shot together.
• In 'Love Today' (1997), Mantra played the loud, impulsive lover while Raasi played the quiet, grounded one. She anchored every scene he tried to run away with — that push-pull became their signature.
• They never became close friends off-screen. After 'Kondattam' (1998), they didn't speak for five years until 'Aalukkoru Aasai' (2003) brought them back — strictly professional both times.
