• Nizhalgal Ravi and Srividya first worked together in 'Needhiyin Nizhal' (1985) because director R. Sundarrajan specifically wrote Srividya's role with her in mind — but Ravi was a last-minute replacement after the original male lead dropped out. Ravi walked into the set cold, and Srividya helped him rehearse his lines between takes.
• In 'Moondravadhu Kann' (1993), Srividya deliberately slowed down her dialogue delivery to match Ravi's natural rhythm — she told the director she'd rather adjust her pace than let Ravi rush through emotional scenes. That film's climactic confrontation between them is the only scene where both actors are breathing in sync.
• During the shoot of 'Thiramai' (1985), Srividya noticed Ravi was struggling with a particularly heavy monologue. She pulled him aside and taught him a breathing exercise she'd learned from her mother — Ravi later said that technique became his go-to for every intense scene in his career.
• The success of 'Neenga Nalla Irukkanum' (1992) directly led to director K. S. Ravikumar casting both of them again in 'Jodi' (1999) — but this time as a married couple. That film's family dynamic became the template for Ravikumar's later hit 'Paarthale Paravasam' (2001), which also featured a mature couple at its emotional core.
• Srividya once told a magazine in 1994: 'Ravi is the only co-star who never once asked me to change my makeup or saree for a scene. He just trusted me to bring the character. That trust made me give him my best.'
