• Anupam Kher and Rishi Kapoor first shared screen space in 'Izzat Ki Roti' (1993), but the film was a disaster — it tanked so badly that neither expected to work together again. Yet, they reunited a year later for 'Pehla Pehla Pyar' (1994), purely because Rishi insisted on giving the director another chance.
• In 'Yeh Hai Jalwa' (2002), Rishi played a goofy, over-the-top father while Anupam played a straight-laced villain. The comedy worked because Anupam deliberately slowed down his delivery to match Rishi's frantic energy — he said in an interview that Rishi's timing was so fast that he had to 'pull the brakes' to create the laugh.
• Despite making three films together, Anupam and Rishi never became close friends off-screen. Anupam once admitted they were 'friendly co-stars' but never hung out outside sets — Rishi preferred his own circle, and Anupam was busy with theatre. Their on-screen warmth was pure craft.
