Partnership facts

• Their first film together, Chiru Navvuto (2000), was a disaster — 3.9 rating. But director V. V. Vinayak saw something in their pairing and cast them again in Gangotri (2003). That film became a blockbuster and basically launched both their careers in the same frame.
• In Lakshmi Narasimha (2004), Prakash Raj played the villain and Sunil played the comic sidekick. They had zero scenes together — but their characters were connected through the plot. That's the only film in their 10-movie run where they never shared screen space.
• Their 2011 film Mirapakaya was the first Telugu movie where Sunil played a full-length lead role after years of being a comedian. Prakash Raj played the antagonist. That film's success directly led to Sunil getting his own solo hero projects like Poola Rangadu and Maryada Ramanna.
• On the sets of Simhachalam (2003), Sunil was still a struggling comedian. Prakash Raj, already an established actor, would personally rehearse comedy scenes with him between takes — something Sunil later said no other senior actor did for him at that stage.
• Sunil once said in an interview: 'Prakash Raj garu is the only actor who made me feel like a co-star, not a sidekick. He never treated me like a comedian — he treated me like an actor.'
