• Tanikella Bharani wrote the dialogues for 'Appula Appa Rao' (1991) and specifically requested Annapoorna for the role of his wife. He later said he wrote the lines imagining her voice.
• In 'Sogasu Chuda Taramaa?' (1995), Bharani played a frustrated husband and Annapoorna played his nagging wife. They shot the big argument scene in one take because both kept improvising insults that made the crew laugh — the director kept the first take.
• Annapoorna called Bharani 'anna' (elder brother) on set, but he insisted she call him by his character's name during shoots. She said it helped her stay in character for their tense domestic scenes.
