• Dharmendra personally asked Danny Denzongpa to play the villain in Mardon Wali Baat (1988) after their first meeting at a gym. Danny was hesitant about the role, but Dharmendra insisted, saying the film needed a 'real fighter' opposite him.
• In Zalzala (1988), Danny and Dharmendra shot a hand-to-hand combat sequence without stunt doubles. Danny later said Dharmendra's raw strength forced him to improvise faster moves — the scene became the film's only memorable highlight.
• During the shoot of Zulm-O-Sitam (1998), Danny and Dharmendra shared a room in Ooty for three weeks. They spent evenings discussing Buddhism and Punjabi folk music — two topics neither discussed with other co-stars.
• Danny once told a trade magazine: 'Dharamji doesn't act — he just stands there and the camera loves him. I had to work twice as hard to not look like a cardboard cutout next to him.'
• The failure of all three films — each scoring below 5/10 — convinced both actors to stop doing multi-starrers with each other. Neither worked with the other again after 1998, making this one of the least successful actor pairings of the 90s.
