• Salman Khan was the one who pushed for Sanjay Dutt to be cast in Saajan (1991). The director Lawrence D'Souza originally wanted a different actor, but Salman insisted that Sanjay would bring the right vulnerability to the love triangle.
• In Saajan, Salman played the loud, extroverted friend while Sanjay played the shy, introverted poet. They deliberately swapped their real-life personalities on screen — Salman, usually the quieter one off-camera, cranked up the energy, while Sanjay, naturally boisterous, dialed it down.
