• Anil Kapoor was already a rising star when he signed Insaaf Ki Awaaz (1986), but Kader Khan was the senior writer-actor who had written dialogues for some of the biggest hits of the 70s. The director, Shibu Mitra, paired them specifically because he wanted a young hero who could match Kader's rapid-fire dialogue delivery — Anil had to audition by reciting a long monologue Kader had written on the spot.
• On the sets of Inteqam (1988), Kader Khan would often rewrite his own lines during rehearsals to make Anil's reactions stronger. Anil later said Kader would deliberately pause mid-dialogue to let him steal the scene — a trick Kader never did with other co-stars.
• Despite making only three films together over 16 years, Kader Khan and Anil Kapoor shared a private ritual: before every scene, Kader would whisper a one-line joke to Anil to loosen him up. Anil revealed this in a 2019 interview, saying it made their serious scenes feel alive.
• Anil Kapoor once said about Kader Khan: 'He didn't just act with me — he taught me how to listen on screen. In Badhaai Ho Badhaai, he would pause for a second longer than the script said, and that silence made my reaction funnier.'
• The only reason Badhaai Ho Badhaai (2002) exists is because Kader Khan personally called Anil Kapoor after a 14-year gap and said, 'Let's do one more comedy before I retire.' Anil agreed without reading the script. The film flopped, but it remains the only comedy where both played brothers — and the only time Kader played a younger man's elder sibling on screen.
