• Vadivelu and Pasupathy first shared screen space in Maayan (2001), but the real spark came in Madhurey (2004). Director Ramana Madhesh paired them as comic relief and villain — and realized their contrasting energies created a tension that audiences loved.
• In Madhurey, Vadivelu’s frantic, high-pitched comedy worked because Pasupathy played it stone-cold serious. Pasupathy never cracked a smile, which made Vadivelu’s panic funnier. They didn't try to match each other — they played opposites.
• In Manikanda (2007), Pasupathy played the villain who keeps a straight face while Vadivelu’s character stumbles into his plans. The comedy came from Pasupathy’s deadpan reactions — he let Vadivelu do the running around, and just stood there, judging him silently.
