Partnership facts

• Their first film together, Ninne Premista (2000), was a disaster. But director K. Raghavendra Rao liked their pairing so much that he cast them together again in Azad (2000) the same year — and then again in Ammo Okato Tarikhu (2000). Three films in one year, all flops, but Rao refused to break them up.
• In Missamma (2003), Tanikella Bharani played the overbearing father and L.B. Sriram played the comic sidekick. The trick was that Bharani would deliver his lines in a deadpan, serious tone, and Sriram would immediately undercut him with a punchline — they built a rhythm where one set up the joke and the other landed it, every single time.
• Their 2019 film MBM (Mera Bharath Mahan) was a surprise hit. That success directly led to L.B. Sriram getting his own solo comedy show on a Telugu OTT platform in 2020 — something he had never done before. The film proved he could carry a project without a big star.
• On the sets of Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru (2002), Tanikella Bharani would rewrite his own dialogues on set. L.B. Sriram, who was still finding his comic timing, would quietly watch and then ask Bharani to rehearse with him before every take. Bharani never said no.
• L.B. Sriram once said in an interview: 'Bharani garu is the only actor who can make me laugh even when I'm not in the scene. I'd stand behind the monitor and lose my lines because I was laughing at his face.'
