• Their first film together, Kaalai (2008), almost didn't happen. Silambarasan was initially hesitant to share screen space with a comedian who was still finding his footing. Santhanam personally convinced him during a late-night phone call, promising to elevate every scene he was in.
• In Vaalu (2015), Santhanam's rapid-fire one-liners forced Silambarasan to drop his usual 'mass hero' posture and react in real time. The result: Silambarasan started laughing genuinely on camera, something his earlier action-heavy roles never allowed.
• Their pairing in Idhu Namma Aalu (2016) directly inspired the trend of 'hero-comedian buddy films' in Tamil cinema. Two years later, films like Kalakalappu 2 and Mr. Local tried to copy their formula of a straight-faced hero bouncing off a hyper-energetic sidekick.

• In Vettai Mannan (2017), Santhanam deliberately slowed down his comic timing to match Silambarasan's more deliberate delivery. He later told a crew member: 'If I go too fast, he'll look lost. I have to leave space for him to catch up.'
