Partnership facts

• Their first film together, Veedevadandi Babu (1997), was a low-budget comedy where Tanikella Bharani actually wrote the dialogues. Srihari later said he signed the film just because he wanted to work with Bharani's writing.
• In Shirdi Sai (2012), Bharani played a devotee while Srihari played the title role. Srihari insisted Bharani be on set even when his scenes weren't being shot — he said Bharani's calm presence helped him get into the spiritual zone.
• Srihari and Bharani were close friends off-screen. When Srihari fell seriously ill in 2013, Bharani was one of the first people at his bedside. He later said in an interview that he couldn't watch Srihari's posthumous films without tearing up.
• Their 2013 film Toofan was the only Telugu movie where Srihari played a negative role opposite a younger hero (Naga Chaitanya). Bharani's casting as the comic sidekick in the same film gave the movie a rare tonal balance — it's still remembered for that odd-couple pairing.
• Tanikella Bharani once said about Srihari: 'He was the only actor who would call me 'Anna' even after becoming a star. On the sets of Bhairava IPS, he'd ask me to sit next to him during lunch, not with the supporting cast.'
