• Their first film together, Dookudu (2011), wasn't planned as a double-act. Director Srinu Vaitla needed a sidekick for Mahesh Babu's character and cast Brahmanandam. Vennela Kishore was brought in for a smaller role. But on set, the two comedians kept riffing off each other, and Vaitla expanded their scenes together. That film became a blockbuster and locked them as a comedy pair.
