• Their first film together, Preyasi Raave (1999), was a low-budget romantic drama. Srikanth was already a known face, but Narayana was still finding his footing as a character actor. The director paired them because he wanted a contrast — Srikanth's earnest hero with Narayana's natural comic timing.
• In Oka Radha Iddaru Krishnula Pelli (2003), Narayana played a sidekick who constantly undercuts Srikanth's romantic plans. The trick was that Narayana would improvise one-liners on set, and Srikanth would react in real time — no retakes. That film's comedy scenes are still shared on Telugu meme pages.
