• Abhishek was already a star when they shot Bunty Aur Babli (2005), but Amitabh agreed to play his father only after the director Shaad Ali showed him a scene where Abhishek had to slap him. Amitabh said yes because he wanted to see if his son could actually pull off hitting him on camera.
• In Paa (2009), Amitabh played a 13-year-old boy with progeria, and Abhishek played his father. To make the age reversal believable, Abhishek deliberately acted stiff and awkward around Amitabh on set — he told the director he wanted to feel like a nervous dad who didn't know how to touch his own son.
• Their pairing in Sarkar (2005) directly inspired the 2010 Tamil remake Sarkar — but the real ripple is that the film's success convinced Ram Gopal Varma to cast real-life father-son duos in his next three gangster films, including Nana Patekar and his son in a scrapped project.
• During the shoot of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006), Amitabh and Abhishek shared a vanity van for the first time in their careers. Abhishek later said they spent most of the time arguing about cricket scores and never once discussed the script.
