• They were thrown together by producer-director K. Bapaiah, who cast both in 'Yeh Desh' (1984) as a last-minute replacement after the original lead pair dropped out over a payment dispute.
• In 'Naya Kadam' (1984), Kapoor played the righteous elder brother and Shivpuri the scheming villain — but on set, Shivpuri would quietly rewrite his own lines to make Kapoor's hero look smarter, a move Kapoor later called 'the most selfless acting I ever saw.'
• During the shoot of 'Paisa Yeh Paisa' (1985), the two shared a hotel room in Ooty for 45 days because the production budget ran out. They spent nights rehearsing scenes by candlelight during a power cut.
• Their on-screen brotherhood in 'Yeh Desh' (1984) was so convincing that a small-town distributor in Bihar accidentally released the film as a 'real-life brothers story' — and it ran for 12 weeks in that single theatre.
