• Nassar was the one who pushed Kamal to direct Thevar Magan (1992). Kamal was hesitant to direct, but Nassar convinced him on set. That film became Kamal's directorial debut.
• In Kuruthipunal (1995), Nassar played a police officer and Kamal played a terrorist. They rehearsed their interrogation scene for three days straight. Kamal later said Nassar's intensity made him forget his lines — and that rawness stayed in the final cut.
• Nassar and Kamal have a standing bet on every film they do together: whoever flubs a dialogue first has to buy lunch for the entire crew. Nassar claims he's paid for 8 out of 11 films.
• Their pairing in Avvai Shanmughi (1996) directly inspired the Hindi remake Chachi 420 (1997) — but Kamal insisted Nassar reprise his role in the Hindi version too, making Nassar one of the few actors to play the same part in both language versions.
• Nassar once said in an interview: 'Kamal doesn't just act with you — he acts at you. You have to fight back with your own craft or you'll disappear on screen. That's why I always came prepared for war.'
• In Uttama Villain (2015), Kamal played an aging superstar and Nassar played his loyal friend. Kamal deliberately shot their emotional scenes in one take, telling Nassar: 'If we break, the audience won't believe we've known each other for 40 years.' They didn't break once.
