• Their first film together, Chiru Navvuto (2000), was a disaster — 3.9/10 on IMDb. But Sunil and Narayana kept getting paired because directors noticed they had a rhythm no one else did: Narayana would set up a joke with his deadpan face, and Sunil would finish it with his manic energy.
• In Hungama (2005), Narayana played a bumbling sidekick to Sunil's lead. The trick was that Narayana never tried to be funny — he played everything straight, which made Sunil's over-the-top reactions land harder. Sunil later said Narayana was his 'silent springboard.'
