• Their first film together, Seetharamaiah Gari Manavaralu (1991), was a family drama where Tanikella Bharani played the son and Kota Srinivasa Rao played the villain. The director, Kranthi Kumar, specifically paired them because he wanted a contrast between Bharani's soft, emotional delivery and Kota's explosive, high-energy menace.
• In Dookudu (2011), Kota Srinivasa Rao played the corrupt home minister and Tanikella Bharani played his sidekick. The comedy came from Bharani's character constantly trying to calm Kota's character down, only to get slapped or yelled at. Bharani later said in an interview that Kota would deliberately go off-script to make him break character, and the director kept those takes.
