• Their first film together, Yamaleela (1994), was a comedy-horror where Brahmanandam played Death and Ali played a ghost. The director, S.V. Krishna Reddy, paired them specifically because he wanted two comedians who could play off each other's contrasting energies — Brahmanandam's loud, frantic style vs Ali's deadpan, slow-burn reactions.
• On sets, Brahmanandam would often improvise long, rapid-fire monologues, and Ali would deliberately pause for an extra beat before reacting — that split-second silence became their signature. Ali once said in an interview that he learned comic timing by watching Brahmanandam's feet, not his face, because Brahmanandam's physical comedy started from the ground up.
• Their pairing in Nenunnanu (2004) — a film where they played rival suitors — directly inspired the comedy track in the 2006 Tamil hit 'Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu', where Kamal Haasan's character watches a Telugu film clip of their scene. That scene is still shared on Telugu meme pages today.
• Despite making 43 films together, they never once had a meal together off-set. Ali revealed in a 2018 podcast that Brahmanandam would finish his shot and immediately leave for his next commitment — they were strictly professional, never friends, but never had a single fight either.
• Ali once said: 'Brahmanandam garu is like a volcano. I am the calm sea. When we meet, the audience gets a tsunami.' He said this during a 2015 TV interview promoting 'Loafer'.
• In 'Sudigadu' (2012), a spoof film, Brahmanandam played a character who keeps slapping Ali's character. The slaps were real — Brahmanandam insisted on actual contact for comic effect. Ali later joked that his cheeks were sore for a week, but the scene became the most replayed bit of the movie.
